These terms are an agreement between you and AppLoc LLC ("we", "us") about your use of Leven, the daily word-ladder puzzle at https://www.playleven.com. By playing, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information.
The game
Leven is free to play. We may change, pause or retire puzzles and features, including friend challenges, at any time. Your progress is stored in your browser, so clearing your browser data, or switching browser or device, can lose it. We can't restore progress that was stored only on your device.
Fair play
Please don't:
- interfere with the service or its servers, or try to get around its security or limits;
- use bots, scripts or automated requests to create challenges, submit results or collect data;
- use Leven to break the law or to harass anyone.
We may remove results, challenges or access to features that break these rules.
Friend challenges
A friend challenge can be opened by anyone who has its code or link, so share it only with people you want to play it. Challenge words come from Leven's word list, and challenges expire after 24 hours. We may remove any challenge, for example if it is used to send an offensive message.
Ownership
The Leven name, logo, design, puzzles and software belong to AppLoc LLC. You may play the game and share your results and challenge codes. Please don't copy, resell or republish the game or its puzzles without our permission.
Other services
Links to app stores, social networks and other websites are provided for convenience. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.
Disclaimers
Leven is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that the game will always be available, error-free or that results and progress will never be lost.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, AppLoc LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data or progress, arising from your use of Leven. Because Leven is free, our total liability for any claim relating to it is limited to US $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you, and nothing here limits rights you have that cannot be waived by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the state in which AppLoc LLC is organized and the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you live in a country whose consumer-protection laws give you the right to bring claims locally, you keep that right.
Changes
We may update these terms. When we do, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top. If you keep playing after a change, the updated terms apply.
